History
The Housing Authority of the City of Casper (dba) Casper Housing Authority, was established in 1971 to address the shortage of safe, sanitary, and affordable housing for low-income individuals.
The agency was created through a resolution passed by the City Council of the City of Casper, in accordance with the Public Housing Act.
In 1974, another resolution was passed, granting the Casper Housing Authority the right and power to hold title to real property.

Governance

CHA is governed by a 5 member Board of Commissioners, appointed by the City Council of the City of Casper.

Staff
The Casper Housing Authority and Casper Housing Authority CARES are led by a dedicated Executive Team, including the Executive Director, Director of Finance, Director of Asset Management, Director of Housing, and Director of CARES.
Together, they oversee a team of 48 passionate and mission-focused employees across various departments, including Housing Programs, Maintenance & Construction, Family Self Sufficiency, Administrative, and CARES.
