Section 8 - Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV)
Our Housing Choice Voucher Program, commonly known as Section 8, assists very low-income families, the elderly and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the Casper area. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing within the community of their choice, subject to program requirements.
A housing subsidy is paid to the landlord directly by CHA on behalf of the participating family. The family then pays the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount subsidized by the program.
Project Based Voucher Program (PBV)
The Project Based Voucher Program is a great option for those looking for affordable housing. Project Based Vouchers provide rental assistance for specific units at specific properties. Currently, CHA properties with Project Based Vouchers include Liberty Square, Raven Crest, and CentrePointe Apartments. Applicants must be approved for the PBV assistance and the property.
HUD VASH
The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program designed to provide rental assistance and clinical services to homeless Veterans. The program combines Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). If you are interested in applying for the program, you can contact the VA medical center and mention you are interested in HUD-VASH to be connected to a VASH Coordinator.

With stays of up to 24 months, we provide a more private and secure environment than emergency shelters.
